Brian is a Non Executive Director of The Agricultural Bank of China (UK) Ltd. (ABC UK), an advisor to Worldpay UK Ltd. and Lysis Financial Ltd. and the Chairman of the Trustees of Pancreatic Cancer Action. Prior to these roles Brian was CEO then Chairman of Global Transaction Services, the Trade, Payments and Merchant Acquiring Division of The Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS).
ABC UK is the UK based subsidiary of The Agricultural Bank of China, one of the largest banks in the world. Brian serves as Chair of the Risk Committee, a member of the Audit Committee and Chair of RemCo.
Worldpay is majority owned by Bain Capital and Advent International and is one of the world's largest Merchant Acquiring businesses. Brian's primary role is to advise on risk related matters.

Pancreatic Cancer Action is a charity primarily concerned with increasing awareness of Pancreatic Cancer and improving funding. Through this the aim is to significantly enhance long term survival rates which currently stand at less than 4%.
Global Transaction Services (GTS) was established in February 2008 as a new division of RBS which Brian led as Chief Executive until December 2010. It comprised cash and liquidity management, trade finance, global merchant services (since sold to Advent and Bain) and commercial cards. GTS served corporate, financial institution and public sector clients across more than 37 countries. GTS had an operating profit of £1.08bn in 2010.
Until October 2011 Brian was a Managing Board Member of RBS N.V., and the Chairman of the RBS Business Services Division Risk and Audit Committee. Brian joined RBS in 2004 as Managing Director, Head of Corporate and Institutional Banking.
From 1992 to 2004, Brian was with Deutsche Bank. He was responsible for running Deutsche Bank’s Global Banking Business in London before becoming the Chief Operating Officer for Global Banking. In his last position at Deutsche Bank, Brian was based in Hong Kong, where he was responsible for the Global Banking Business across 16 countries in Asia Pacific.
In 1970 Brian joined Barclays Group and over the next years held various positions in the UK and the USA in Barclays Bank, Barclays Merchant Bank & BZW.
Brian completed his MBA at Henley Management College. He is an Associate of the Charted Institute of Bankers in England & Wales and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers in Scotland.
Brian is married with two sons and enjoys watching rugby, playing golf and is an active cyclist.
