Richard has over 25 years of extensive executive experience at board and director levels in such sectors as retail, property, construction, logistics, distribution, and airports. He currently holds non-executive director posts at C&C Technology Consulting Ltd and Beeno.com; acts in an advisory capacity to major technology vendors and consulting organisations and is  a Freeman of the Worshipful Company of Information Technologists.

Richard was more recently CIO of BAA, the world’s largest commercial airport operator with 8 UK and overseas airports. The group also included Heathrow Express, World Duty Free, and Lynton property development. The UK operation manages 155 million airline passengers per annum and employs circa 12,000 staff. As CIO, he was responsible for the overall strategy and execution, managing annual cash spend of £150 million, 700 staff, a portfolio of outsourcing arrangements, and a forward investment program of circa £1 billion. Prior to this, he was IT and Technical Services Director at Wincanton Ltd., a provider of outsourced logistics and supply chain systems. During this time, he was also responsible for a number of senior policy roles at Unigate, their parent company. His earlier roles included directorships at Hunter Saphir plc and Trust House Forte plc.
