Ian Durant

Chairman
Capital & Counties Properties plc and Greggs plc Ian is Chairman of London property investment and development company, Capital and Counties Properties, and also Chairman of Greggs, the retail bakery business. He is a non-executive director of pubs and brewing business Greene King and a non-executive director Home Retail Group (which owns Argos and Homebase). Ian currently chairs the Audit Committees of Home Retail Group and Greene King, where he is also Senior Independent Director. He is an Advisory Board member of Eurosite Power Inc, a fledgling energy business.

In his earlier career he worked with Hanson (Allders Department Stores and Duty Free) and Jardine Matheson (where for 12 years he was based in Hong Kong). He was Finance Director of commercial real estate giant Hongkong Land, Asian and Australasian food retailer Dairy Farm International and Thistle Hotels. As CFO he took Seacontainers into a break up under US Chapter 11 in 2006. Before taking on his current non-executive portfolio he was Finance Director of FTSE 100 property company Liberty International.  He is a Chartered Accountant.
