Paul is a non-executive director of The Thistle Pub Co 2 plc.Thistle Pub Co 2 plc owns public houses in the Lothian Region of Scotland.

Paul was formerly a non-executive director of Brookwell, a quoted Guernsey-based investment trust with investments in 80 small-cap and AIM listed stocks. Brookwell ran activist shareholder closed funds generating value and returning cash from illiquid stocks.

He was Deputy Chairman of the Quoted Companies Alliance for three years and remains a Director. The QCA represents the interests of smaller quoted companies and has a results record and influence considerably greater than the size of the team running it would normally expect. In particular it represents smaller companies in Europe and successes include modifications to European rules on the Prospectus Directive and rights issues . The QCA issues the definitive guides on Corporate Governance, Audit and Remuneration committees for smaller quoted companies

Paul is a Criticaleye Board Mentor and brings to that role years of experience in working on public company boards in a wide range of activities, strong city connections and a healthy cynical approach to business and regulatory issues.

In his executive life, Paul has over 40 years plc experience across a spectrum of commercial and industrial activities, including international assignments having most recently been on the board with Fuller, Smith & Turner Plc (premium brewing and retailing) from 1991 to 2008.Paul gained his training with Ernst & Young where he worked in London and Paris.

He is a graduate of Cardiff University with a degree in Accounting and Economics and is married with two grown up children. He spends his time between London and Céret on the French/Spanish border. He remains a regularly bad player of tennis and golf.
