Bruce Cox
President and CEOPacific Aluminium
Bruce was appointed as President & CEO of Pacific Aluminium in September 2013. The portfolio of assets included within this business include a bauxite mine, alumina refinery, four smelter operations in Australia and New Zealand and a power station in Queensland. The operations include;
•Bell Bay Aluminium
•Boyne Smelters Limited in Queensland
•Gladstone Power Station in Queensland
•Gove Operations bauxite mine and alumina refinery in the Northern Territory
•Tomago Aluminium in New South Wales
•New Zealand Aluminium Smelters Limited in New Zealand
Pacific Aluminium is a subsidiary of Rio Tinto.
Prior to this Bruce was Managing Director of the Rio Tinto Diamonds Group.The role held responsibility for Rio Tinto’s Diavik operations in Canada, Argyle in Australia, Murowa in Zimbabwe, Marketing, Sales and Diamond Sorting activities in Belgium and Diamond Exploration and Development activities in India.
Bruce joined Rio Tinto in 2003. Before joining Rio Tinto, Bruce worked for 22 years with BHP Billiton across various product groups.These included its copper business in Chile, Platinum business in Zimbabwe, Iron Ore operations in Western Australia, various Head Office roles in San Francisco and Melbourne and prior to that, 11 years in the steel industry based in Port Kembla, Australia.
Bruce is a CPA and has a Bachelor of Commerce and Masters of Business Administration.
He is married with two young children.
Bruce is also a member of Criticaleye's Advisory Board.
